While players like Justin Fields are safe, other players may not have the same luxury.

With 2023 right around the corner, which two players would rather leave the Bears when the new NFL season kicks off?

david montgomery

David Montgomery will be an unfortunate loss to the Bears in 2023.

His departure from Chicago may not be because he wants to leave, but because the Bears don’t want to keep him.

While he has done solid work for the team since being drafted, his contract expires in 2023.

Since the Bears haven’t re-signed him so far, they could look to Khalil Herbert to replace him.

Before his injury, Herbert was ahead of Montgomery in the running game.

Khalil Herbert has more rushing yards than David Montgomery.

Herbert was Montgomery’s backup and hasn’t played since Week 10.

However, after Montgomery’s big game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he finally got the better of Herbert.

But even with that game last Sunday, it won’t save him from being released.

N’Keal Harry

The Bears took a gamble when they traded for receiver N’Keal Harry.

That risk is turning out to be a flop, as Harry’s season is a complete disappointment.

Between injuries and not receiving the ball, Harry hasn’t been a big factor this season.

With his contract expiring in 2023, it’s likely the Bears will let him walk.

He has played just four games this season due to injuries and has five total receptions for the season.

With these horrible numbers, there’s no way the Bears are going to keep it come 2023.
