On Sunday, an official said Punjab police had arrested three illegal arms suppliers and confiscated 63 state-made pistols from their possession in Khargoun district of Madhya Pradesh.
Jagdeep Singh, Deputy Inspector of Punjab Special Operations Cell, said as many as 24 cases were registered earlier against the three accused, who used to supply pistols in Punjab, Rajasthan and other states.
He said the police team from Amritsar in Punjab on Saturday arrested the three people, Kailash Singh, Sonu Singh and Ghorial from Kajalpura Road in Kharghoon and confiscated 63 country-made guns.
He said two other people, Jay Sharma and Deepak Pratap, were arrested last month with four guns.
The official said that the two people were informed during interrogation that pistols had been purchased from these three defendants.
Khargaon Police Chief Dharmvir Singh said Punjab police had contacted their counterparts here, who helped them make the arrests.
