There are still tributes for late Migos rapper Takeoff.
Cardi B, who is married to Migos member Offset, has just spoken publicly about his death for the first time, saying she is “heartbroken”.
“Blast off, his untimely death has brought so much pain and sadness to so many lives,” she wrote in an Instagram tribute. “The impact you had on this world was so considerable and we have struggled to understand this tragedy.”
“I am heartbroken,” she continued, “but I am grateful for all the precious memories we were able to share while you were here with us. This truly has been a nightmare and the pain is beyond compare. The emptiness your brothers feel is unbearable and I pray that give Offset, Quavo and your friends and family the strength to carry on as they try to cope with this loss.”
Cardi said that as a “Migos fan, it hurts me to see photos and videos of you guys together, and to hear your songs that changed the music industry, rocked the culture, and lit up the clubs 🔥. It hurts me because I know I’ll never go back.” be the same, but I know your brothers and all your fans will make sure the world never forgets the impact you had.”
He added that he would “remember [his] remarkable talent and great personality” and “pray that [he’s] in peace and in paradise because [he] deserve[s] every little bit.” “I know God opened the heavenly gates for you with a warm hug,” she continued. “Rest in the power of TakeOff 🚀💔 I’ll love you too 4L and after.”
Cardi’s post came hours after thousands of people gathered in Atlanta for a public Takeoff memorial, including Offset and Quavo. While both rappers reportedly spoke at the funeral, they have yet to publicly comment on his death.
