A memorable and entertaining era came to an end for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.
After Los Angeles had unbidden slugger and former MVP Cody Bellinger, the Chicago Cubs swooped in and signed him to a one-year, $17.5 million deal.
In addition to his 2019 MVP award, Bellinger earned 2017 Rookie of the Year honors, a Silver Slugger Award, a Gold Glove Award, an NLCS MVP Award, a World Series ring, and two All-Star selections.
One of Bellinger’s best moments in Dodger Blue was his go-ahead home run against the Atlanta Braves in Game 7 of the 2020 NLCS.
Taking to Twitter, Dodgers insider Blake Harris posted highlights of the moment, stating that Bellinger would always be a Dodgers legend.

Dodgers analyst shares Bellinger highlights
Bellinger’s run in Los Angeles was certainly a good one.
Unfortunately, the slugger started to struggle after his 2019 MVP season.
The 27-year-old hit just .210 in 2022.
He still managed to hit 19 home runs, but posted just 1.2 WAR.
However, Bellinger was still a fan favorite in Los Angeles.
His Game 7 home run is certainly a moment Dodgers fans will remember for a long time.
That home run gave them their first lead of the game, which was enough to finish off the Braves and advance to the World Series for the third time in the previous four seasons.
The Dodgers would defeat the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, winning in six games.
Bellinger was a key part of several great Dodger teams and will be missed by fans.
