E Shinde's 'complete ignorance': Aaditya Thackeray in line for $20bn deal

Mumbai:

Maharashtra has lost thousands of jobs “just because of the incompetence and ignorance” of the government, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray said today, accusing Maharashtra’s minister of industries, Uday Samant, of “losing” two projects that they have cost the state “over 1.7 lakh jobs”.

“They have to answer to the people more than anyone today,” he said, criticizing the Eknath Shinde-led government in the state.

Gujarat recently pocketed the company Rs 1.54 lakh crore for India’s first semiconductor plant. Mining conglomerate Vedanta and Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn have decided to jointly build the plant in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Gujarat edged out Maharashtra in a close race to win the plant location.
