Haryana bribery case: Manohar Lal Khattar orders suspension of two officials

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday ordered the suspension of two officials after an incident in which a man cheated to get a government job during a meeting here.

He was chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redress Committee at Swatantrata Senani Zila Parishad in Gurugram on Sunday here.

The Prime Minister ordered action against the then Station House Officer (SHO) at Sohna Sadar Police Station and Deputy Attorney General appointed in Gurugram Commissioner of Police Office for considering the case a civil matter.

Aware of the issue of bribery in exchange for a Class D job in the centre, the Prime Minister said, “We have set up such a system in the state, whereby no one can get a job by paying money. Our government is working to give corruption a free rule to the people.” In this case, the accused has a history of doing fraud in the past, so the police will take action against him. This complaint was submitted by a resident of Sohna who allegedly paid 3.5 lakh rupees to the accused.

Later in an official statement, Gurugram Police said that it was found that Sub-Inspector Satyendar showed gross negligence and negligence in dealing with the complaint of Anil Kumar, a resident of Sohna.
