Former Pakistan national cricket team captain Salman Butt has made a big comment about Rishabh Pant’s fitness, stating that the India national cricket team’s goalkeeper-batsman is overweight.
Rishabh Pants he is currently participating in the first test of the two-match test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

In India’s first innings, the 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman scored 46 runs off 45 balls. Furthermore, he had a fine partnership of 64 runs off 73 balls with Cheteshwar Pujara which led India to bounce back after being reduced to 48/3.
In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Salman Butt spoke about Pant’s batting performance against Bangladesh, saying that the batsman-wicketkeeper tried to play innovative shots in the innings. He opined that playing innovative shots would have been easier for Pant if he had been in shape.

“Rishabh Pant was playing the way he likes, but he looked for something innovative and came out. It was a strange dismissal as the ball hit the bat, the pad before cracking the stumps. I always talk about Rishabh Pant’s fitness because the type of shots he plays and tries to innovate, it would be easier for him to hit those shots if he was fit. I think he is overweight,” he said.

Butt further said that Pant is undoubtedly overweight and as a result not a very agile cricketer. The 38-year-old added that Rishabh Pant’s fitness is not up to scratch.
“He is definitely overweight and therefore not very agile. He is below the level that he should be at, in terms of fitness,” Butt said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel.
Talking about the match, in their first innings India recorded 404 runs on the board aided by good half centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin. Also, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav contributed a good 40.
In stumps on Day 2, Bangladesh were at 133/8 in 44 overs with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain not coming out and they were still 271 runs behind.
