Saba Karim on Washington Sundar

Former coach Saba Karim was having an interaction with IANS and was asked about Washington Sundar. “I would still stay at number seven for Washi (Washington) Sundar because I see him as an all-around bowler, he can be a wonderful asset to the Indian side. That really stretches out the hitting and helps the team push through the intermissions knowing you have Washington Sundar at number seven or eight, depending on the composition of the team.” Said Karim.

“I see him as a viable all-around hitting ground. On one side you have Hardik Pandya who is a complete batsman and can bowl. Then I see Shahbaz Ahmed as a complete hitter who can throw with his left arm.” added.

Crucial series for India

The Men in Blue would try to get back to winning ways after a disappointing series in New Zealand. As Saba Karim mentions, Sundar can be a perfect option for India. The all-rounder had scored a half-century in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, where the team was struggling.

Head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma know that Bangladesh have an element of surprise in them. The duo would expect to record knockout wins, as giving up any kind of opportunity could prove risky for the team.
