The much-awaited mini-auction of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held on December 23 in Kochi. Mayank Agarwal is the type of person who has led one side – Irfan Pathan

Speaking on the Star Sports show game plan, Irfan Pathan said that signing Mayank Agarwal would benefit Sunrisers Hyderabad. Irfan said that SRH can consider him a leader in the future.

“SRH will go after Mayank Agarwal because they also need an aggressive type of opener. They don’t have Kane Williamson at the moment, who led them for many years as an experienced player and used to start the innings as well.” Irfan Pathan said.

“Mayank Agarwal is the type of person who has led a team, who also plays quite freely, very brave, very selfless. They might be thinking of him going forward as a leader as well.” added.

Punjab and Sunrisers must be very smart and aggressive: Irfan Pathan

Pathan stated that Punjab and SRH do not have the right playing XI and need to be aggressive in this auction. He believes they will intimidate other teams during the bidding wars for star players, and Australian leggie Adam Zampa will be in high demand.

“When you don’t have a proper playing eleven, which Punjab and SRH don’t have, that means they have a big bank balance and that means they have to be very smart, they also have to be aggressive in these auctions because they have the muscle and I think Adam Zampa, they will persecute him from the first moment ”.
