‘I’ve never seen a player play so consistently’: Real Madrid star Toni Kroos praises FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos tipped his hat to Lionel Messi after the former Barcelona superstar won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina.

Lionel Messi finally ended his career long wait to win the FIFA World Cup on Sunday, December 18. He helped Argentina beat France on penalties in the final to clinch the trophy.

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar got a brace for La Albiceleste at night, while Ángel Di María also scored a goal. However, a Kylian Mbappé hat-trick saw the match end 3-3 and it went to penalties.

Argentina finally got a win over The Blues after Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni missed their penalties. He ended his 36-year long wait to win the FIFA World Cup.

Since then, soccer fans, pundits and athletes around the world have praised both Messi and Argentina. Kroos has now become the latest personality to congratulate the 35-year-old.

The Real Madrid midfielder explained that he has not seen a player as consistent as Messi. He then pointed out that he rates the Argentine a lot despite his links with Barcelona and PSG. Kroos said [via @MadridXtra on Twitter]:

“I’ve never seen a player play as consistently as Messi, and he played for clubs I don’t like, so he proves I mean it.”

However, nothing brought Messi more joy than lifting the World Cup trophy after leading Argentina to glory. After the game, he explained how now he has fulfilled a childhood dream of his.

Having won the one trophy that evaded him for most of his career, the striker can hang up his boots without regret. However, he still doesn’t seem to have made up his mind regarding his international future.
