There is some uncertainty regarding the status of the New Orleans Saints quarterback.

As they prepare for their Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings in London, England, NFL Network’s Stacey Dales tweeted that there was no sign of quarterback Jameis Winston during the open portion of practice yesterday.

The situation has not changed, as Dales gave an update today.

She tweeted: “Surprisingly there is no Jameis Winston in the open portion of #Saints practice. The expectation for both him and HC Dennis Allen was that he would be practicing today. Andy Dalton, once again, representatives of the first team. Representatives of the second team of Taysom Hill. Jarvis Landry was practicing, Michael Thomas wasn’t.”

Like yesterday, Dalton is practicing with the starters while Hill takes snaps with the backups.

On Saturday, this scenario could likely be his setup against Minnesota at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it’s also possible the Saints are being cautious with Winston because he was listed as questionable in Week 3 due to back and ankle injuries.

Despite his injury, he threw for 353 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in their loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Winston’s physical condition may cause some changes in the Saints’ depth chart, with the possibility of Dalton taking over as the starter.

Mixed results for Saints

While Winston wasn’t available during the open portion, it’s a relief for Saints fans to see Jarvis Landry practicing.

However, Michael Thomas is also questionable because he is not seen as Winston.

Dales also went on to say that offensive guard Andrus Peat joined the practice while safety Marcus Maye was doing some drills on a nearby field.

Injuries have marred New Orleans’ promising 2022 campaign, as they have only won one of their first three games.
