Kim Cattrall Is Told To “Move On” After She Made Another “SATC” Joke Amidst Her Attacks On SJP

In recent years, sex and the city has become as famous for its off-screen drama as it is for its fictional episodes, with Kim Cattrall incredibly expressing her negative experience on the show.

Kim was one of SATC four lead actors, and played sex-obsessed PR guru Samantha Jones in all six seasons and in both films.

But there have been rumors of tension between Kim and her co-stars for quite some time. In 2004, speculation grew when Kim sat apart from the show’s other leads, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, at the Emmy Awards.

At the time, the women denied that there was any hard feelings between them and regularly shut down claims that they did not get along.

However, the truth began to emerge in 2017, when the Daily Mail reported that plans for a third sex and the city The film had been cut due to Kim’s “demands” just days before filming began.

A source claimed at the time: “Cattrall demanded [Warner Bros.] produce other films that he had in development or he would not sign up for the project. Warner Bros. refused to meet their demands and had to cancel production because the company decided it wouldn’t be fair to the fans to produce a movie with only three of the four main characters.”

This marked a turning point for Kim, who responded to the report by stating that she had said no to the film in 2016 because she denied making “demands”.

Woke up 2 @MailOnline 💩 storm! The only ‘DEMAND’ I made was that I didn’t want to do a third movie….& that was in 2016

Insisting that she will never reprise the role of Samantha, Kim said of the third film, “The answer was just thank you, but no, I’m fine. This is not about more money. It’s not about more scenes. It’s not about any of those things. It’s about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another… It’s a big part. I played beyond the finish line and something else, and I loved it.”

She added that she had “never been friends” with her co-stars, before saying, “This is really where I criticize the people of sex and the city, and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker. I think it could have been nicer. I really think it could have been more enjoyable. I don’t know what her problem is.”

Sarah Jessica responded by saying she was “heartbroken” by Kim’s “very upsetting” comments during an appearance on See what happens livewhere he also said, “That’s not how I remember our experience.”

In February 2018, the situation between Kim and Sarah Jessica deteriorated further following the tragic death of Kim’s brother.

Kim disagreed when Sarah Jessica commented on her condolences in an Instagram post, with Kim publicly accusing her of “exploiting [her family’s] tragedy.”

Sarah Jessica had written: “Dear Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and good luck to your beloved brother. XX”.

Kim then wrote in an Instagram post, “My mom asked me today, ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continued touch is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this very clear. (If I haven’t already) You’re not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

Her former co-star didn’t respond at the time, but two months later she insisted there’s “no catfight” when asked about the feud at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“I’ve never uttered a nasty, unsupportive, or hostile word, so I’d love to redefine it,” Sarah Jessica said of the one-sided rivalry. “I have always held Kim’s work in high regard and always appreciate her contributions. If she chooses not to do the third film, there is not much I can do to change her mind and we must respect that. That is all I have said on the matter.” , you know?

And in August 2019, Kim once again reiterated that she will never play Samantha again. “I couldn’t understand why they didn’t just replace me with another actress instead of wasting my time bullying. No means no,” she told The Guardian at the time.

“I don’t want to be in a situation even for an hour where I’m not having fun,” Kim added later.

so when sex and the city sequel series and just like that was announced in 2021, it was no surprise that Kim, and consequently Samantha, weren’t on the show.

Kim did not publicly comment on the series, but she made her feelings relatively clear when she was caught liking a selection of shady tweets praising her decision to distance herself from the project.

One such tweet, posted in March of this year, read: “So proud of @KimCattrall for skipping the crap S&TC reboot and doing @HIMYFonHulu. She’s amazing, just like @HilaryDuff.”

So proud of @KimCattrall for skipping the crap S&TC reboot and doing @HIMYFonHulu. She’s wonderful, as is @HilaryDuff 👌🏼 If you have 48 minutes to spare, go ahead and watch the first two episodes… I might even watch them again before next week. Challenge accepted!

And it seems that Kim has no regrets at all about her decision to walk away from Samantha Jones forever, and the actor seems to make fun of her. sex and the city experience at the Glamor Women of the Year Awards on Friday.

The star was presented with the Screen Icon award at the ceremony, and couldn’t resist hinting at his difficult past jobs in his acceptance speech, drawing a mixed reaction from fans.

“This is what happens when you go where you are celebrated and not where you are tolerated,” Kim told the crowd.

Kim shared Glamor’s post of this quote on her Instagram profile, and it didn’t take long for her followers to read between the lines, but not everyone was on the same page.

While many shared their loyalty to Kim as they spoke out against the show, others begged the star to stop the public slur.

“The show without you is so boring,” one wrote in reference to and just like that. Another said: “The glow is real. She endured and then left when the time was right.”

One more joked: “Oh, is that for someone in particular? 😂”

But some fans weren’t laughing, with one commenting, “Happy for you, but enough with the shade ❤️.”

Another agreed: “🙄 always casting a shadow please get over it… don’t celebrate that ✌🏼.” A third repeated: “Honestly, keep going.”

Back in April, Sarah Jessica made the unusual decision to address Kim’s earlier comments when she admitted that she wouldn’t feel comfortable welcoming her into the franchise.

“If some miracle happened and Cattrall wanted to play Samantha again, would Parker be okay with that?” Variety asked in an interview.

“I don’t think he would, because I think there’s too much of a public history of feelings on his part that he’s shared,” Sarah Jessica confessed. “I have not participated or read articles, although people are inclined to let me know.”

And the actor’s comments came after the show’s creator, Michael Patrick King, said the door is not open for Kim to return as a direct result of what he said.

He told the same publication, “It was not thought that Kim would ever participate in and just like thatbecause he said what he said.

“The only place I engage in magical thinking is in fiction. You take people’s word for it and you’re a smart producer – you don’t corner yourself,” added Michael. “Magically thinking, Samantha is great to have. I have no realistic expectations of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.”

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Jessica also said she found Kim’s accusations “very painful” as she insisted they did not reflect the experiences she, Cynthia and Kristin had on set.

“I spent many years working very hard to always be decent to everyone on set,” Sarah Jessica explained. “And there’s just no one else who has talked about me this way.”

“I just want to say one thing, because I’ve been allowed this opportunity: It’s very painful for people to keep talking about this ‘catfight,’” he added later. “There is no ‘fight’ going on. There have been no public disputes or disputes or conversations or accusations made by me or anyone on my behalf. I wouldn’t do it. That’s not the way I would have it.”

“So I just wish they’d stop calling this a ‘catfight’ or an ‘argument,’ because it doesn’t reflect [reality]. There has been a person speaking”, concluded Sarah Jessica.
