To begin with, Millie said that it is very different from her close friendship with her. Strange things castmates.
“With Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship. Like a really healthy relationship,” Millie said.
“[The friendship is] one that we have terms and conditions,” he continued. I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me.”
“I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, ‘Millie, shut up. No.’ And I’m like, ‘Got it.’”
“While with the Strange things kids, it’s different,” he added. “There are no limits because it is as if we were all brothers. But with Henry, he is very strict with me, which I appreciate.”
“So for him, it must be completely different. I have a sister, a brother and an older brother. So, I’m very used to that kind of dynamic,” Millie said.
“I had to implement a lot of that into my relationship with Henry on and off screen and just push him out of his comfort zone.”
Enola Holmes 2 director Harry Bradbeer corroborated this in the Deadline interview. “[Henry] He has a very rational approach, but he’s learning more and more to have fun and be spontaneous,” he said.
“And of course he and Millie had this really interesting and nice dynamic where they’re always touching each other. And Millie tickles him a little bit and surprises him. And he goes along with it.”
Bottom line, we maintain a healthy friendship with boundaries, especially in Hollywood. You can read the complete interview here.
