MLB Insider reveals an important question from the Padres about MLB

The San Diego Padres have come close to landing a couple of big free agents in recent days.

In fact, the offers the Padres made to the two notable free agents, Aaron Judge and Trea Turner, were worth more than the offers they ended up accepting.

So naturally, a number of people within the industry are wondering where the Padres got all this money.

That’s a question a rival executive had about the Padres after the team jumped on Judge, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

However, Feinsand noted that the Padres’ offers to Judge and Turner can only mean one thing, which is that they plan to spend big this offseason.

After learning that the Padres pounced on Aaron Judge, a rival executive asked, “Where do they get all this money?” Credit to San Diego for their aggressive nature in trying to catch the Dodgers in the NL West. They clearly haven’t finished this winter.

Potential Padres offseason plans

The Padres eliminated both the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers to open the playoffs.

They ultimately fell short against the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS.

Still, his goals remain lofty.

Despite knocking out the Dodgers in the NLDS, they finished 22 games out of first place and will look to close that gap in 2023.

Your offers to Judge and Turner are evidence enough to prove it.

They may return to the shortstop market, where Carlos Correa, Xander Bogaerts and Dansby Swanson await their offers.

That would give the Padres the bat they’re looking for now that Josh Bell is gone.

San Diego won 89 games in 2022, but with an extra power bat, the team could go even further next season.

The Winter Meetings wrap up today, but the Padres may have a few tricks up their sleeves before it’s all said and done.
