Sources today said Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi will return to the position of Attorney General of India, the government’s top lawyer, after K.K. Venugopal retires.
Mukul Rohatgi resigned from his position as attorney general in June 2017, and K.K. Venugopal responsibility after him.
Mr. Venugopal’s extended term of office will expire on September 30. He held the position of Chief Legal Officer at the Center for five years.
When Venugopal completed three years in 2020, he asked the center to let him go because of his age. The government asked him to continue for another term. He stayed, but only for another year.
Sources said Mukul Rohatgi will begin his second mission on October 1.
