Nelson Mandela’s grandson criticizes Meghan Markle for comparing her marriage to activist version – Perez Hilton

Nelson MandelaHis grandson is not happy Meghan Markle Comparing her marriage to the release of his grandfather in prison!

while talking to shearing On Monday, the Duchess remembered her attendance Disney‘s the king lion The premiere in 2019. While attending the event, she claimed that an unnamed South African cast member pulled it aside and said when she got married Prince HarrySouth Africa “rejoiced” as it did when Mandela was released from prison:

‘He looked at me, and he’s just like a light.’ He said, ‘I just want you to know: When I married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets as we rejoiced when Mandela was released from prison.’

Yes wonderful …

Now, we don’t know who told her, but we doubt they’ll come forward to confirm after the activist’s grandson Mandela is back The wind caught the claim. Talking to daily Mail On Tuesday, he said there is no comparison:

“The Madiba celebration was based on overcoming 350 years of colonialism with 60 years of brutal apartheid in South Africa. So it cannot be equated as the same.”

He continued, apparently noting that the 41-year-old was comparing herself to his grandfather, and urging anyone who wanted to begin “comparing themselves” on an equal footing with him to consider the work he had done:

“Every day there are people who want to be Nelson Mandela, either comparing themselves to him or wanting to emulate him. But before people see themselves as Nelson Mandela, they should look at the work he did and be able to be champions and advocates for the work. which he defended himself.

Markle’s allegations shocked the Mandela family, and Zoellickel said Nelson’s release from his 27-year sentence was far more important than her “marriage to a white prince”. He went on to talk about his grandfather’s work and how he refused to be “silent” on important matters:

We still have scars of the past. but they [Nelson Mandela’s celebrations] It was a product of the majority of our people who took to the streets to exercise the right to vote for the first time. He spoke of minorities, children, oppressed women, and extended the lives of the most vulnerable people in our society. He has always spoken about oppressed nations around the world and yet people remain silent on these issues. But this is what we would love to see [from] People when they consider themselves “Nelson Mandela”. Then you can be the champion of causes like him.”

The African National Congress The deputy also offered some advice, telling readers to “live the life” Nelson did, because there is “no value” in these ceremonies if someone is “opposing what he defended”:

“My advice to everyone is to live the life that Nelson Mandela lived and to support the causes he supports. This is the ultimate test. What is the value of people dancing in the street chanting for President Nelson Mandela when what they represent is in stark contrast to what he represented?”

In conclusion, he appeared again, reminding that the price paid by the activist was in no way similar to her wedding:

“Nelson Mandela’s release from prison was the culmination of nearly 350 years of struggle in which generations of our people paid for their lives. It can never be compared to celebrating someone’s wedding.”

Microphone drop.

What a response! The work done by the South African is incomparable to what most of us will do in our lives, so we can see why it’s ridiculous to compare it to a royal wedding. The things he defended and fought against are things most of us won’t have to go through – especially the royals! Understandably, the Mandela family was shocked by these statements. It sure comes off as deaf…

What do you think, Perezcious readers? Did Meghan get off the line in choosing to convey this publicly? Audio is off in comments (below).
