Photos: World Cup victory parade takes to the streets in Qatar

The contagious energy of Argentina’s supporters at the World Cup final has spilled out from the stadium into a huge and boisterous parade down Lusail Boulevard, with the newly crowned champions as the main attraction.

Jubilant crowds lined Qatar Boulevard after Sunday’s incredible World Cup final between Argentina and France.

The smiling and victorious Argentine team stepped out of the open top bus that took them down the parade route as they basked in the glory of the champions and had a moment to bask in their victory.

Argentina’s victory over France ended a four-tournament run of European teams taking the championship.

Also participating in the parade were costumed artists, Qatari policemen on horseback and camels, and a group of volunteers who participated in the tournament.

Rounding out the celebrations, fireworks lit up Qatar’s clear midnight sky to the delight of the tens of thousands of people who celebrated the final match of the 2022 World Cup.
