Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Adds a Weird New Diglett Called Wiglett

The Pokémon Company revealed a species of new Pokémon that will come to scarlet pokemon Y purple pokemon this November: Wiglett, a Paldean region twist on the lovable soil type, Diglett. Wiglett is tall, white, and loves hanging out at the beach.

Wiglett was revealed in a somewhat unusual way on Wednesday, as part of a fake Zoom call between members of the World Eco Pokémon Society, who are being shown an introduction in the Paldean region by Jacq, the master. of the player’s classroom in scarlet pokemon Y Violet. During the video, various biomes and Paldean Pokemon are shown off, including another newcomer, Paldean Wooper. Members of the society comment on Wiglett’s appearance, comparing him to a region-specific version of Diglett, though he is apparently a separate species.

On Thursday, The Pokémon Company made Wiglett’s reveal more official, with a new trailer showing off the Pokémon Garden Eel. According to the official Pokémon website, Wiglett is described as having an exceptionally strong sense of smell and being quite shy around other Pokémon. “Wiglett digs a part of its body out of the sand to feed in the ocean,” reads the description of the new Pokemon. “It is not yet clear what the rest of his body is like hidden in the sand or how long it could be.”
