Zorua evolves into Zoroark at level 30, but finding Tricky Fox isn’t easy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet due to its Illusion Ability.

Zorua and its evolution Zoroark are dark-type Pokémon that return in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but Trickster Fox and Illusion Fox are hard to find due to their unique ability, Illusion. They are inspired by shapeshifting. kitsune from Japanese folklore, except for Zorua, and Zoroark only seem to change shape, an illusion, whereas kitsune physically alter their bodies. The movie Zoroark: Master of Illusions tested that the PokéDex entries are true; Zoroark are wildly protective of their kind.
Both Pokémon have the Illusion Ability and no other hidden potential abilities in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, wild Zorua and Zoroark do not accurately display the effects of their trapped versions used in battle by players or trainers. Trapped Zorua and Zoroark Illusion Abilities cause the Pokémon to appear as the last Pokémon in that player’s party, and it will appear as that Pokémon until Zorua/Zoroark takes damage. Taking damage disables Illusion, and both will return to their normal appearance. Wild Zorua and Zoroark lose Illusion once they are involved in the battle. However, they will look like other Pokemon before they battle, but their disguise makes finding the two more difficult than most Pokemon.

How to find Zorua and Zoroark

Zorua evolves into Zoroark at level 30, but Zoroark is also found in the wild. Zorua and Zoroark share the disguise mechanism with another Pokémon. Tracking them will be the same as finding Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. YouTuber suggests using the ZL button to enter Lock On mode AbdallahSmash026 because blocking a Pokemon shows its name and level once the player has encountered its type before. If the player has not activated it before, three question marks will replace the name and level. However, Zorua and Zoroark’s Illusion do not affect the name displayed on the Pokémon, and if they have been encountered before, their real name will still appear on them when they are blocked. Players who haven’t encountered Zorua and Zoroark will still see three question marks above the costumed Pokemon. Identifying all of the Pokemon in the area makes finding them easier than taking on random Pokemon, especially since both are rare in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
According to the pokemon database, Zorua and Zoroark have a 10% chance to spawn at your spawn locations. Zorua can be found in two places, tagtree thicket Y Western Province Area Three. Tagtree is northwest of a fast travel location in Area Three of the Eastern Province. Western Province Area Three is northwest of Medali, which has two fast travel locations. Zoroark is found later in the game on the Socarrat Trail in the far northwest of Paldea, but catching Zorua early is the best play.
Maybe it’s just the determination to need to get his Zorua back, but Anime-Zoroark is absurdly powerful. Although Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Zoroark probably couldn’t take on Suicune, Entei and Raikou simultaneously like in the movie, he’s still strong. Players planning to use it on their team should take advantage of its high Sp. Attacks by trapping one with a Nature that increases Sp. Attacks or use a Nature Mint to give it the desired Nature. Dropping 20,000 on a supply of Chansey for a Natural Mint in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet it might be the best play due to the rarity of Zorua and Zoroark.
