PSG interested in signing Chelsea star – Reports

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are interested in acquiring the services of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to French outlet Le10Sport.

Kante has been having trouble keeping fit lately. Despite concerns about his fitness, many European heavyweights remain interested in signing him, PSG being one of them.

The Parisians added Vitinha and Renato Sanches to their ranks during the summer transfer window. However, according to the aforementioned source, PSG sporting director Luis Campos is still not happy with the options available in midfield. He is eager to strengthen his team’s midfield next summer by adding the 2018 World Cup winner to his ranks.

Kante’s current contract with Chelsea expires in June 2023, meaning the French champions could sign the player for free next summer. The West London unit is believed to want to keep the former Leicester City player at the club beyond June 2023 and has already entered into talks with him.

Signed from Leicester for €35.8m in the summer of 2016, Kante has built an enviable legacy at Chelsea. Widely hailed as one of the best midfielders in the world, the Frenchman has won a Premier League title and a Champions League trophy with the Blues, among other honours.

So far, Kante has appeared in 262 games for the Pensioners in all competitions, registering 13 goals and 15 assists.

PSG could face stiff competition from Juventus for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante

Like PSG, Serie A giants Juventus are also interested in signing Chelsea’s star midfielder Kante. According to Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb (via the aforementioned source), Juventus are keen to bolster their midfield by pairing Kante with compatriot Paul Pogba. Pogba is recovering from knee surgery and could miss the World Cup with France.

If France don’t have players like Kante and Pogba available for the World Cup, they will struggle in the competition. Things are not looking good for them at all.

Having played together for years in the national colours, the two Frenchmen know each other perfectly. If Juve can convince Kante to come to Turin, the Bianconeri will surely become a force to be reckoned with in Serie A. It will be interesting to see whether or not the former Caen player accepts a new challenge next summer.
