‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’: Meet the Voices Behind Each Animated Character

Eleven years after the release of The cat with bootsthe feline is making his big comeback.

The animated film, written by Paul Fisher, brings the adorable feline back to the big screen with more action, adventure and comedic moments. The film also brings together an internationally renowned cast to voice the characters, including Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, and Florence Pugh.

Directed by Joel Crawford and co-directed by Januel Mercado, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Follow Gato (Banderas) on his epic adventure to find the mythical wishing star and restore all nine of his lives. After dying eight times, a doctor advises the cat to retire, but that’s an idea that Gato has a hard time accepting. In an attempt to retire, Puss temporarily stays at the home of an obsessed cat lover, but while he’s there, Puss meets Perro (Harvey Guillén). The feline companion then joins Puss and Kitty Softpaws (Pinault) on their journey to the Black Forest in search of the star. “When you only have one life, that’s what makes it special,” Kitty tells Gato in the film’s trailer. During their journey, the trio is faced with various evil characters and obstacles that threaten the life of Puss.

Puss has appeared in several movies over the years, including shrek 2, shrek the third Y Shrek Forever After. The feline then had his own spin-off in 2011 with The cat with boots. Now, the cat’s story continues with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
