The bad news keeps coming for the embattled R&B singer R.Kelly, who was just convicted of three counts of child pornography and three counts of enticing a minor to have sex on Wednesday, just months after being sentenced to 30 years in prison in a separate case in New York earlier in this summer.

Meanwhile, two other pending criminal trials are important to the 55-year-old.

In his second conviction this year, Kelly faces a minimum of 10 years in prison for each of the child pornography charges, according to the Chicago Tribune.

He was acquitted of seven other charges. The Chicago trial was a repeat of Kelly’s 2008 child pornography trial, with a key video critical of both.

Jurors deliberated for only 11 hours before reaching a guilty verdict, the co-conspirators were acquitted

His two alleged co-conspirators, Derrell McDavid and Milton “June” Brown, were acquitted of all charges after being accused of intimidating and bribing witnesses in Kelly’s 2008 trial on state child pornography charges.

Jurors deliberated for just 11 hours before reaching a verdict, meeting on Tuesday afternoon and making a decision a day later, the outlet reports.

In closing arguments for the prosecution, Assistant United States Attorney Jeannice Appenteng said that “R. Kelly wanted to… have sex with young girls”, before adding that “people around her wanted to help her boss… (and) get away with it”.

“What R. Kelly wanted was to have sex with young girls,” Appenteng said in closing arguments for the prosecution earlier this week. “And what the people around her wanted…they wanted to help her boss, even help her get her way.”

Kelly’s defense attorney: ‘He shouldn’t be stripped of every bit of his humanity’

On Tuesday, Jennifer Bonjean, Kelly’s defense attorney, argued that “this man did beautiful things with his music” and told the jury that “he should not be stripped of all his humanity.”

“This man did some beautiful things with his music. And he shouldn’t be stripped of all humanity from him,” Bonjean said Tuesday. “I ask you more importantly and to remember that each count counts and take the time you need…Mr. Kelly deserves it no matter what you think of him.”

Ultimately, he was acquitted of the trial rigging charges and found not guilty on three counts of conspiracy to receive child pornography and two other counts of enticement.

Second conviction in as many years, two more criminal trials on the horizon

Kelly’s most recent conviction is her second this year only, after she was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison by US District Judge Ann Donnelly in New York in June.

He has remained in prison after being convicted last September in New York for crimes of extortion and sex trafficking, the shadow room previously reported.

And there is still more legal trouble on the horizon for Kelly, with two more trials currently pending; one in Minnesota and one in state court in Chicago.

The singer will not be eligible for parole until he is 80 years old, according to his charges.
