Selena Gomez underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 and named her new kidney after a special person.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said, “I’ve never met him, but I secretly hope he finds out just because I want him to say, ‘That’s weird.’”
The final seasons of the show came when he found out he needed a kidney transplant due to his lupus, shortly after his second album. Renaissance, was released in 2015.
At the time, she said, “I’m very aware that some of my fans noticed that I’d been under the radar for part of the summer and asked me why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of.”
And what made his kidney transplant even more special was that he received it from a close friend and The Secret Life of the American Teenager star, France Rasia.
“She gave me the greatest gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sister.”
