Air strikes on sites near the capital Damascus follow missile strikes on Friday and Monday, Syria says.

The attack follows similar airstrikes on Friday and a rare daytime airstrike on Monday that wounded one soldier, according to the Syrian military.

Friday’s attack was the first of its kind reported since September 17, when Syria’s Defense Ministry said missile strikes on Damascus International Airport and nearby military posts south of the capital killed five soldiers. .

Israel, which does not comment on such strikes, has carried out hundreds of strikes against targets inside government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years, but rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations.

Israel claims it has attacked bases of Iranian-allied fighters in Syrian groups. Tehran has sent thousands of fighters to support the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
