Players can make sandwiches that increase the frequency with which Shinies appear using various ingredients found in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The use of specific ingredients found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet allows players to make brilliant sandwiches. These Sandwiches increase the frequency at which Shinies appear. In fact, players can choose which type of Pokemon they would like to see the most while Shiny hunts using a certain Sandwich recipe. Although most of the ingredients can be purchased in stores in the Paldea region, Herba Mystica is much harder to come by.

There are two ways to obtain Herba Mystica. You are guaranteed to earn Herba Mystica when players defeat the Titan Pokemon. There are a total of five Titans, each of which drop a different Herba Mystica. The types of Herba Mystica are as follows: Bitter Herba Mystica, Salty Herba Mystica, Sour Herba Mystica, Spicy Herba Mystica, and Sweet Herba Mystica. Additionally, there is a chance for Herba Mystica to drop when players defeat 5+ Star Tera Raids. The specific type of Herba Mystica received is based on which Pokémon was defeated in the raid.

Brilliant Sandwich Recipes

Players can also create their own Shiny Sandwich recipes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This option allows players to explore more of what this game has to offer while completing the Shiny Pokédex. It’s important to note that adding more than two Herba Mystica will have no effect on the recipe’s outcome, meaning players will waste items if three or more Herba Mystica are added. Adding one or two additional common ingredients is also recommended. Whether players are creating their own Sandwich recipes or using the default ones mentioned above, players should expect an increase in Shiny Pokemon while playing the game.
