MLB free agency remains an area in which the Chicago Cubs look for talent for 2023.
After signing former New York Yankees pitcher Jameson Taillon, the team continues to search for more talent.
However, the Cubs are keeping a close eye on one of MLB’s top superstars in hopes of getting it done.
But can the Cubs land this star, and who is the team looking at for 2023?

Correa, who spent most of his time in MLB with the Houston Astros, is a solid bat for the Cubs’ offense.
His .279 career batting average is a solid representation of the 28-year-old star shortstop.
His bat isn’t the only thing the Cubs will get if they sign Correa, though.
During the 2021 season, he won several awards for his prowess on the field.
Those awards include the Gold Glove Award and the Platinum Glove Award.
With him starring on both sides, it would be a no-brainer for the Cubs to get it.
However, several other teams are also interested in taking over Correa’s services.
With competition for his services, the Cubs might just let him slide.
While this option isn’t what fans want, it is something they are used to with the Ricketts family running the team.
Fans view ownership as the people who don’t want top-tier players if they cost too much.
However, since the team has already added Taillon, it could be a different story for the Cubs for 2023.
