The Green Bay Packers appear to be in a bind with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

While the team gave him a contract extension this season, he could pursue them in the future.

However, that future could come faster than they expect, and the MVP quarterback is dealing with multiple injuries.

With him having a broken thumb and problems with his ribs, some feel he should retire.

But if he does, the move could cost the Packers a lot of money in cap space next season.

While the team can figure something out, they’re in a bad spot with Rodgers this season.

However, his injuries aren’t the only reason the Packers might regret their decision to extend his contract earlier this year.

Rodgers is holding back the development of Jordan Love

Ever since the Packers got Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft, Rodgers has let everyone know how he felt about the pick.

Now, with the Packers virtually out of the playoff race, he continues to prevent Love from developing as a player.

Rodgers wants to keep playing, despite the impossible odds of making the playoffs.

But with an aging Rodgers and a hungry Love, will the backup be willing to stay if the MVP quarterback stays?

If Love enters his fourth season with no more experience in NFL games, he could leave town.

He’s going to cause big problems, as the Packers landed him as the future replacement for their MVP quarterback.

However, they are stuck with Rodgers unless they trade him or he retires.

But both moves will be expensive, so the team might regret extending it this season.
