Uruguay will be disappointed that they were unable to find a way past a resolute South Korea after hitting the post twice.
Uruguay and South Korea kicked off their World Cup campaign with a hard-fought draw, in a high-paced game that ultimately lacked the killer ending.
Both sets of fans cheered on their teams during the scoreless but entertaining event in Doha, Qatar’s Education City Stadium on Wednesday.
Uruguay, known as La Celeste, came closest when Diego Godín hit the post with a header in the first half. Federico Valverde hit the post again on 89′ with a long shot.
South Korea also created several half chances, but they will be disappointed that they did not capitalize on some exciting counterattacks.
