The eighth game of the Big Bash League (BBL) was played between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Perth Scorchers. The Hobart Hurricanes had won the toss and had chosen to bat first. Hobart Hurricanes posted a challenging total of 173 runs in which Matthew Wade scored a half century and sported sublime touch.

Perth Scorchers got off to a decent start to their power play where they scored 44 runs and lost 1 wicket. The wicketkeeper’s batsman, Josh Inglis, looked menacing as he hit a fine 62-run strike from 37 balls. The batsman came out at a crucial stage where Scorchers required a further 36 runs in 4.5 overs.

Shadab Khan takes a blindness

At the end of 18 overs, the Perth Scorchers score was 155-6, where they required another 18 runs in 2 overs. Shadab Khan received the ball and on the third ball, he took an amazing catch and dismissed Aaron Hardie where he spun to his right side. That catch proved to be decisive as the Hobart Hurricanes won the contest by 8 runs.

intriguing league

Big Bash League (BBL) is considered one of the prestigious franchise leagues after IPL. The peculiarity of this league is that there is even competition between bat and ball. We witnessed a full 15 runs earlier in the tournament where the Adelaide Strikers deceived the Sydney Thunder.

This season the likes of Trent Boult and James Neesham are taking part and have opted out of national duties, which is pretty mind blowing. It would be interesting to see how the league develops as we can expect some exciting contests.
