The neo-Western sci-fi series garnered a whopping 54 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won 7 over four seasons. Season 4 premiered in June 2022 and concluded two months later, leaving fans wanting more from the show. However, HBO has removed Western world after 4 seasons.
HBO announced on November 4 that there would be no Western world season 5. “For the past four seasons, Lisa [Joy] Y Jonah [Nolan] have taken viewers on a mind-blowing odyssey, raising the bar at every turn. Kilter Films also released a statement about the show’s ending: “Making Westworld has been one of the highlights of our careers. We are deeply grateful to our extraordinary cast and crew for creating these indelible characters and brilliant worlds. We have been privileged to tell these stories about the future of consciousness, both human and beyond, in the short time before our AI overlords forbid us to do so.”

What fans want to see happen in season 5
There were some loose ends that needed to be tied up. Western world season 5. Dolores was back to where it all began at the end of season 4, so next season she would have likely returned to the western theme park from season 1.
Creator Lisa Joy teased Season 5’s plot and Dolores’ pivotal role in an interview with the envelope after the season 4 finale. “You know, we always thought that Western world it should come full circle and return to the West. But with Dolores, who was just a player in other people’s games, she was finally able to write her own. Just to wrap up a lot of the things that we’ve seen before, like the flashforward with The Man in Black and everything, we have a plan for Season 5, but, you know, life can make other plans for you. So we will hope for the best,” he said.
Lisa added, “It’s no accident that they return to the west, like Westworld, and this time with a completely different narrator in charge. I believe that point of view can drastically change the meaning of any kind of story or existence, and now it’s your turn. How often do you see the damsel in distress become the leader of a society? Someone who went through what she went through, I mean, look at our world now. How often does that happen, and who holds power in most civilizations? She is not a person or creature like Dolores. She was a ‘thing’ to the people. She lived through countless lifetimes and reboots where she was at the mercy of guests in a park, indulging her vices and her identity. She’s seen a lot of human nature, and maybe enough to know how to structure something or create a game where some kind of hope can arise.”
