Mets Fan Drops Anthony Bass From Blue Jays With A Clap On Twitter Forever

Meet Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass. Anthony is currently in the middle of a $3 million settlement, but apparently that doesn’t allow him to get help for his pregnant wife while he’s traveling with his two young children. Take a look at this recent post that Bass knowingly and voluntarily put up on Twitter.

Pretty deaf, considering how few flight attendants and airline workers have been since the pandemic, and that airline cleaning crews, who may or may not have the opportunity to clean your plane before boarding, can do as little as $24,000 per year.

So let me take a moment to sympathize with Bass’s wife. I went on a cross country trip with two young children (3 and 18 months at the time), and going it alone absolutely sucks. Congratulations to all the single parents out there. Kids this age mess as easily as they breathe, somehow managing to throw away things you didn’t even know they owned. They attract chaos in all its forms. And I even gave Bass some slack on this one. We all turn to Twitter to vent from time to time, justified or not. I have done. You’ve done it. All we need to calm us down is a few sympathetic answers, people to tell you that they agree that what happened to you was the greatest injustice in the world, and then it’s over.

But here’s where Bass, who has “Christian” at the top of his Twitter bio, went overboard:

So Bass is trying to get someone who definitely makes a lot less money than he does for a a lot more stressful, disciplined job probably and fired at worst. All because he doesn’t think his wife should have to clean up after his children. And she keeps doubling down and tweeting through him.

A normal person would see that a large proportion of people were telling him he was wrong and he would walk away. But not Anthony Bass! He is here thanking the (very few) people who supported him and trying to get an overworked flight attendant into trouble.

This is where I tell you that for all of Anthony’s strong opinions about what flight attendants should and shouldn’t do, he sucks even more at his job. Bass’s effectiveness is currently 7.11, and his WAR is -0.2. So you should definitely be talking about how well someone else does their job. And that’s when Twitter user @e_munson stepped up and became the hero we needed:

Only a Mets fan could respond with this amount of utter obscurity. God bless New York.
