2023 NBA Draft trade tracker: Full list of deals

The NBA Draft provides a double dose of excitement for basketball enthusiasts, as it brings a flurry of thrilling transactions involving picks and trades. Once the first round concludes, the rapid exchange of picks and players intensifies, often making it challenging to keep up with all the developments.

The 2023 NBA Draft, held on Thursday, was no different.

The frenzy actually commenced late Wednesday night when the talented big man Kristaps Porzingis experienced a rollercoaster of trades. Ultimately, he found himself joining the Boston Celtics, where he will enhance the team’s three-point shooting and rim protection. The Celtics aspire to make their second trip to the Finals in three years. In the same trade, the Celtics sent Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Washington Wizards acquired the highly capable backup point guard Tyus Jones, along with some draft assets and salary considerations.

The Wizards have been quite active this week, as they also reached an agreement to trade Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Once the deal is finalized, Beal will join forces with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in Phoenix, instantly transforming them into a frontrunner in the Western Conference.

In one of the most significant early trades on Draft day, the Golden State Warriors added Chris Paul to their roster while sending Jordan Poole and draft assets to the Washington Wizards.

However, apart from these notable moves, the remaining trades on Draft day mainly involved pick swaps and salary adjustments. It’s worth mentioning that Damian Lillard will continue to play for the Portland Trail Blazers, and despite widespread rumors throughout the week, Zion Williamson remains a member of the New Orleans Pelicans.

To provide a comprehensive overview, here is a summary of all the trades surrounding the 2023 NBA Draft, shedding light on the changes to expect as the 2023-24 NBA season approaches.
